Master of Computer application (MCA)

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a two-year postgraduate degree program that provides advanced knowledge in computer science, programming, and application development. The course is designed for students who want to deepen their expertise in IT, software engineering, data science, system management, and related fields.

Throughout the program, students gain in-depth exposure to programming languages, database systems, operating systems, software architecture, and cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, big data, and cybersecurity. The curriculum also focuses on research, project management, and leadership skills, preparing graduates to take on complex challenges in the IT industry.

Imparting of Teaching : 17 Weeks

Preparatory Leave : 1 week

Semester End Examination (including Practical) : 3 weeks

There is a break of 2 weeks after every odd semester and a vacation of approximately 6 weeks after every even semester. You can also explore our other postgraduate programmes such as MBA, M.Sc. (Computer Science), and M.Tech (Information Technology).

  • Students seeking admission to the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program must fulfill the following requirements:

    • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications (BCA) or a related discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Mathematics from a recognized university.

    • Subjects Requirement: Candidates must have studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level or in graduation (as per university/AICTE norms).

    • Minimum Marks: At least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination (relaxation for reserved categories as per government/institution rules).

    • Age Limit: Generally, there is no upper age limit, but candidates must comply with the admission guidelines of the respective institution.

    • Admission Process: Admission is usually based on entrance tests (e.g., NIMCET, CUET-PG, state/university-level exams) or merit in a qualifying degree, depending on the university/college.
